I write my blog after a long break - the time well spent ruminating past follies and worrying about an uncertain future. Yes, the slowdown has hit all of us hard. One can't jump a job as easily as you could 2 years ago.
Unemployment is high, pink slips hang over our heads like the proverbial Damocles Sword. I have seen what this can do to people, colleagues in particular. Many have become meek and are willing to gulp down any 'professional insults' hurled by incompetent superiors.
With job opportunities hard to come by, 'leasing the boss' has become an essential strategy to hold on to a job. So where does this leave people who don't stomach such insults and don't indulge in 'lease me' strategy?
Well they too tolerate the 'insults' but only wait until the situation improves. Every dog has its day too, isn't it?
